Alana Burns (b. 1988, Mexico) is an artist based in Mexico City. Her creative journey began with poetry, exploring themes of nostalgia and time. Today, she works primarily with wax painting, shaping colored wax into ethereal, floating worlds that reconnect the material to its fundamental essence. Her sculptural practice similarly investigates how subtle gestures and careful attention can give tangible form to fleeting memories. Using the shell as both an inspiration and a collaborator, she creates intimate objects that transform the ephemeral into treasured everyday artifacts.
