                                                    Tiago Mestre's  practice evolves around the idea of displacement, both in terms of discipline and territory. Originally trained as an architect, his sculptures, paintings and installations reflect his status as a Portuguese artist living and working in Brazil, as well as the historical associations of human and artistic flows between both countries. 
 
The yellow color of the banana gives way to a free chromatic exploration based on an idea of festive, carnivalesque and transformative perfomance. The painting of a still life sculpture, is a hybrid character between plant, fruit and animal and presents
a frontal position that refers to the icons of popular sculpture and the folkloric image with a melancholic mood.
