André Ricardo

Biography
André Ricardo was born in 1985 in São Paulo, Brazil, where he still lives and works today. He graduated with a  BA in painting from School of Communication and Arts of the University of São Paulo, Brazil, having also been part of an exchange program which allowed him to spend time in Portugal. Describing painting as a continuous, organic process, Ricardo’s canvases have a distinct vibrancy to them. He takes inspiration from popular culture and his surroundings. Inspired by the clarity of the colours in early renaissance paintings he favours to paint in egg tempera. Recent solo exhibitions include André Ricardo: Pinturas, Galeria Estação, São Paulo (2021) and Campo Limpo. Org. Nilton Campos. Museu de Arte de Ribeirão Preto. Ribeirão Preto (2021). His work has further been included in the following recent group shows “Reactions in Equilibrium”, SetUp Contemporary Art Fair Bologna, Italy (2017) “in Situ”, Casal Son Tugores, Mallorca, Spain (2016) and “Pintura | MARP 20 Anos”, Museum of Art Ribeirão Preto, Brazil (2013).
